Green tea extract for weight loss: popular ingredient, limited outcome evidence

Green tea is widely used in metabolism supplements, but authoritative reviews do not support expecting meaningful weight loss from green tea supplements alone.

Why it is used

Green tea contains catechins and caffeine, which is why it appears frequently in products marketed for energy expenditure or fat oxidation.

What research says

NCCIH states that green tea has not been shown to be effective for weight loss. NIH’s weight-loss supplement guidance likewise does not support expecting a large effect from green tea products.

Safety context

Drinking tea and taking concentrated extracts are not identical exposures. If a multi-ingredient product contains green tea extract or other caffeine-containing botanicals, consider your total stimulant intake and any health conditions or medications.

Why this matters for Gelatine Sculpt

Some current Gelatine Sculpt formula descriptions include green tea extract. Even if your bottle does, that ingredient’s presence does not prove the finished product causes meaningful weight loss.
